The great Minnesota Get-together

James and Lila attended the Minnesota State fair this year.  Their morning started early on Saturday, 6:30 we arrived at the fair.  Kory helped Aggen's beautify thier cattle in time for the 8:00 beef show.  James Lila and I walked around the fair, not many early fair goers we had lots of room for the double stroller.  Always a good time at the fair, great to see everybody.

I do...

On Saturday we celebrated the wedding of cousin Bobbie Jo and Micheal.  The wedding was at the Mayowood Barns.  The ceremony, reception, and dance was wonderful, beautiful place to have a wedding. We had a great time visiting with family and celebrating with Bobbie Jo and Micheal.

It takes two to tango

James and Lila were having so much fun in these pictures.  It makes me giggle when I hear them giggle. Nothing like the sound of two babies giggling, it brightens your day and reminds you to remember the simply things in life.

Play date with cousin Isabel

On Saturday cousin Isabel and Aunt Karla came to visit us.  It is always fun when they come over.  Our time together  has been limited this summer .  Cousin Isabel or busy Izzy (Grandma Kurth's nickname for Isabel) ran circles around James and Lila.  Isabel is crawling, standing and soon to be taking her first steps.  Lila and Isabel played, James kept his distance from Isabel he is not to sure of her.  This is the beginig of a lifetime of play, they are going to have many memories to share growing up together.

10 months old

It is so hard for me to believe we will be celebrating James and Lila's first birthday on October 5.  Every day is a new day with James and Lila.  I am always amazed with the many fun new things they learn.

James has mastered the army crawl.  Lila has so much frustration when James leaves her in a room all by herself.  Lila is not as mobile as James.  She scoots but not as fast as James does.  James has one tooth on top.  Lila has six; four on top and two on the bottom.  They have started eating solid foods, fruit only.  They are particular in their food choices.  They are both talking; mama, dada, baba.  Lila is louder than James.  She is also more aggressive.  They love to go for rides in the stroller and wagon, play peek-a-boo, listen to music, and to mommy reading books.

summer vacation

James
The saying goes; "you can't take it with you."  Except when your packing your vehicle for summer vacation.  We took James and Lila to Brainerd for their first summer vacation.  My sister Kim and cousin Blake came with us.  Our Tahoe was full!!  We stayed in a little cabin on Long lake.  Lila loved floating around in the lake in her floaty.   James enjoyed the water, only if mommy was holding him.  The weather was great.  Kory spent one day golfing. Kim and I spent a day at the Grand View spa and of course did some shopping in Nisswa.  We had a great time.  It is always good to get away to spend time with each other.

Fun in the Sun

We had a  perfect summer weekend; it included friends, flip flops, sun, water, great conversations with friends and a couple of  "firsts" for Lila and James.  We spent the weekend in Shetek WI at Sauer's  lake cabin.  It was  nice to spend time with the Aggen family and the Sauer family. Looking forward to next year. James and Lila had their first boat ride and took their first splash in the big lake.  They had lots of giggles.  If only their bathtub at home had that much water,  bath time would be out of this world.

do I have to wear this???

This boat ride would be more fun without the jacket

Summer fun

James, Lila and I spent the day outside today.  James did not like the grass, Lila wanted to eat rocks. They meet our kitty today.  Lila grabbed his tail, James was very gentle he gave the kitty a few pats.  The cat's curiosity entertained James and Lila.

James; do I have to touch the grass
Lila; this is so much fun

no worries mom it's just a rock

Book Worm

Well, Lila may not have mastered the army crawl yet but she likes books.

This is a good book mom

James, where are you?

James has mastered the army crawl.  He is exploring the house.  Lila can do 360 on her butt.  James is crawling circles around her keeping her spinning, she does not want to miss anything.
